Will an 2000 watts sub spoil my car battery or alternator or wiring system. Should I but a capacitor?

or is it worth changing the alternator to a bigger one or can I add a parallel battery?

http://www.beachaudio.com/Gemini-DJ/Cx10鈥?/a> dis is the amp I planning to buy. Pls help with your valuable suggestions. I have a 2006 HM ambassador. Will an 2000 watts sub spoil my car battery or alternator or wiring system. Should I but a capacitor?if that amp made anywhere near its advertised RMS wattage you might want to consider upgrading your cars charging system but that amp is VERY over rated and you wont need to upgrade anything

if you have dimming lights or other charging system issues a capacitor is a waste or cash because it will just put more strain on the stock charging system- if you need more juice you need to look into upgrading the wires in the charging system and the battery, if that does not fix the problem you will need a higher output alternator

First off, that amp probably will not be putting out 2000 watts of power. If you really want to power a 2000 watt amp it is worth changing the alternator and and adding a second battery. What you should do replace your battery with a deep cycle yellow top battery. You should be good after that. The capacitor is used only for the dimming of headlights and help feed the amp power. It doesn't take the load off of the electrical system.

Haha dont worry, that amp isnt even 1000 watts! Boss = pure garbage.

Just upgrade your big three wiring. Caps are virtually useless.

hey bud you can buy what you want but to tell you the truth. that amp is rated that high because some guy pushed a bunch of power (more than you car can produce) threw the amp and had everything turned all the way up ( you don't ever want to do this) and a computer said it hit 2000watts %26quot;MAX%26quot; when your shopping for an amp make sure your looking at RMS ratting. thats what the amp can really do. if your looking for a inexpensive amp that can do work go with MTX that's all i run. i have never had a single problem with MTX stuff.

basically if your car got hit by lighting and you had that amp you would get 2000watts for a split second and then it would blow lol
That thing is garbage. Do some research on car audio before you spend any money.
