Car battery trouble?

I dont know if i have to change my car battery a couple of weeks ago it died out and jumped it and it worked find lately the ecs lights keep going off during the cold mornings and turn off once the car is warm do I need to change my car battery..Car battery trouble?take the battery to the local auto parts store.. they have equipment to test the battery and will tell you if you need a new one. If the battery tests out ok, its probably the alternator.
Car battery trouble?
Most likely the battery has had it. I call them fair weather batteries, they are fine when they are warm and crap out when it gets cold. My guess is that it is an older battery, and pretty weak. There are testers for this, most of the larger parts stores will gladly test this for you for free. Kragens and Autozone usually do the job, I think most Napa stores will do it also. The tool to do this yourself if about $30. US, Hope this helps!
Car battery trouble?
First of all how old is it if you have had it for 3 to 5 years then you might need to replace it because the cold weather can really put a battery to the test.

I would take it and have it tested. Some places even test for free like Auto Zone and Advance Auto.
you can take it to auto-zone or a Walmart and they check it for free and let you know what your problem is
it could be the alternator, but go to auto zone and have the battery checked anyways.
If you like to waste money and get stuck paying a tow bill then its OK to let some kid with no auto experience from wallmart or auto zone check your battery or vehicle. Then after it's misdiagnosed by a parts salesman that sells PARTS you will realize that you should have let a qualified auto technician at a quality repair shop do a diagnostic test on your starting and charging system. Also if you buy a cheap part from on of these stores you will find out why the batteries they sell called ever start are called never start by professional auto technicians.
check the wiring in the back of the alternator
Buy a cheap volt meter check it yourself. It should be from 12-13V sitting and increase when the car is running. Also check to see if there is water in the battery. If it were mine I would check the alternator if OK replace the battery no point in taking a chance on getting stuck somewhere.
