Help sought on changing a battery in a zafira ignition key?

Can anyone tell me how to get access to the battery in the fob of a Vauxhall Zafira ignition key? I have tried turning, pulling and tried prising it off but cannot get access to the battery. The owners logbook supplied with the car tells me lots about the key, but not how to change its battery.Help sought on changing a battery in a zafira ignition key?Dealer will change for 拢10.00

If you don't do it properly you could loose the security code and end up paying 拢90 plus to have the code reset, plus the price of towing the car in to the dealer.

What model Zafira?

Zafira A 1998-2004

To Change the Remote key battery:

Looking at the back of the key towards the blade of the key you will see a slot insert a small screw driver and carefully leaver the blade part away from the remote of the key be Carefully not to lose the immobiliser chip that is attached to the inside of the blade end.

Once you have parted the key open the part with the buttons which should just pull apart and insert a new CR2032 Battery into the key.
If it's the flip key, the fob will split in two. If it is the fixed key, then the dealer will have to do it for you.

This applies to most post 2000 Vauxhalls.
