Car battery failed test, but Im having no trouble with it. Should I still change the battery immediately?

Which test did you have, load test or volt test? The load test is more accurate because it rates the reserve capacity directly after the test. If you have money for a new battery get changed now especially if it's four yrs. or older. 12 volt batteries with low reserve capacity die all of a sudden leaving you stranded in the cold and snow. Think about a Yellow Maxx battery from Walmart. They cost about $69.00, have a three yr. free replacement warranty and they're made by the Deka battery company in Lyon Station PA.

Year after year Consumers Reports rates them as the best or near the best in every size category.

Sears Gold batteries are made by AC Delco but they cost an arm and a leg. Innerstate batteries are made by Johnson Controls, the same company who provides units to Auto Zone. Both brands are really good also but Innerstate is a bit pricy and has a short warranty period.

I have an Innerstate in my wife's winter beater 93 Ford Taurus. The darn thing's 7 yrs. old and cranks well in our Upstate NY winter months. A Wallyworld (Walmart) is cloce by so I can make a change quickly if needed. I'm going to milk this battery till she dies. Both volt levals with motor off and load test says it's well within the seviceable zone.Car battery failed test, but Im having no trouble with it. Should I still change the battery immediately?yeah change it.

Yes, because it will leave you stranded in the most inopportune time.

What kinda test did the battery fail? hey I guess you better do that kinda test at another place and compare results, your battery might be ok, test equips can sometimes mislead.

Try the above.

Cheers!
who tested it? were they just trying to sell you one you dont really need? get someone else to retest it... if it is suspect then....replace it..as you dont wanna get stuck at the worst time...:)
No.

I reguarly test car batteries that read %26quot;Bad Cell,%26quot; %26quot;Unstable voltage%26quot; %26quot;Low voltage%26quot; etc, and they run for a long time after that.

Ambient temperature will affect the test, as will fluid levels in the battery, (if it is the kind you can top up.)

I would leave it and see what happens, if you get stranded just bump-start the car :)
