My car still wont start and i changed the battery. is it the starter or the spark plugs or something?

its a 92 toyota paseo, all fulids are fine, when i turn the key it clicks but doesnt start. the radiator fan starts and the lights turn on.My car still wont start and i changed the battery. is it the starter or the spark plugs or something?Sounds like the cylinoid on the starter is bad. Assuming that is the problem, the cure would be to either have the starter rebuilt or else install a new starter.

Sounds like the starter motor. You say the engine isn't turning over, just a click?

Definitely sounds like the starter motor.

it depends to does it try to turn like the motor wants to turn??? cuz it could be the spark plugs there probably old n it cant spark up...
ok go to auto zone and buy a bottle of dry gas and put it into your gas tank this is a simple solution to a problem that might not be a serious problem at all
If its just clicks and you don't hear the engine turn then its your starter.. But if the engine is turning.. then it could be your spark plugs or your alternator.
the battery is fine if you hear the clicking sound. the starter motor is dead. the wires sometimes break and you landed in a dead spot on the starter. if you tap the starter gently you can sometimes jump the bushings and you can start your car. it sometimes last a few days sometimes not.
keep trying to rev while turning the key don't let your foot of the gas for a second or you will have to keep trying once the car catches the spark it will try to turn the engine just keep reving when doing this then once the car starts to start keep accelerating and reving for about a minute. if this doesn't help i think it is a bad alternator go get the car checked or have mechanic come to you
I'm not sure how mechanical you are. First you can get a voltage tester and see how many volts your alternator is charging, should be 14-16 volts. Second you could either yourself or a friend take out your alternator and take to a auto parts store and have it tested as well as your regulator, you should have your answer in a couple of minutes. third if this sounds to complicated, take to a neighborhood shop and have them test your regulator
definitely the starter motor..sometimes it gets stuck when left in cold weather..if you can. get some-one to shift the drive bands from the starter motor..use a spanner ..do not pull on the band to shift it ..unless you want to lose your fingers..once it has been moved ..move the spanner away ..and try the key..you can move the band ..by putting the car in reverse and rocking the car back and forth..you need a few strong people to push the car back and forth..have the car switched off when you rock the car..on the old ford 10 we used to tap the starter motor with a hammer..but to days cars are so compact it's hard to find anything easy to get to ..
