Should I change my car battery it?

I am the second owner of 2003 Toyota Corolla and do not know when the battery was changed last time. Today, I took it to the Toyota service center for oil change and they told me that I need to change the battery asap. I do not have any problem to start the car what so ever. Should I change it?Should I change my car battery it?Usually there is a sticker on the battery with the date and warranty. If its close to the end of the warranty then i would go ahead and replace it. Wouldn't want to be stuck on a cold day.

If the battery is the original one it is seven years old. That's beyond the usual life of the best battery. Sooner or later it is going to fail; if you have AAA or a jumper box, maybe no problem, but if you do not want to be inconvenienced on a cold day or when you are alone in the dark, you may want to change it. Even if it would still last a few more months, a new battery is about $100, yours is 90 months old; that's a little over a buck a month, so your not really saving much by getting a new one. I would shop around for a week and get the best deal; rather than have to buy one in an emergency.

If you're not sure how old it is there a some checks you can do; Are the Battery Terminals Corroded, Is the Battery Distended (Swollen on the sides?) Yes {Internally Shorted, Change ASAP), if everything looks good have it fully Charged and %26quot;Load Tested%26quot; for 15 seconds at 50% of CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) not dropping below 9.6 Volts and this will show you if the Battery will Take and Hold a Charge.
