we have an '05 Pontiac Grand Prix that has remote control for a key that locks/unlocks the doors and trunks as well sets a car alarm off. however the battery is dying and we cannot figure out how to remove the back to get to the battery. we have no actual key to unlock the doors, it only came with a key for engine so we cannot lock or unlock our car without the remote.Changing the battery on a car remote key?The fob either snaps together or has a small machine Phillips head screw holding it together in the middle.
Mine just snaps together, fwiw.
Take a flat head screwdriver or butter knife and pry it apart on the side. Snap it back together after replacing the battery.
