Changed my car battery and things reset?

i changed my car battery at autozone and i found out that my odometer reset(just the trip A trip B), my radio stations reset themselves, and my front 2 power windows which used to go up by themselves by hitting the switch no longer go up, only down. What happend and what should i do? BY changing the battery should the odometer and radio stations reset???|||Please try letting us know the Make, model, and year your vehicle is. Thank you.|||Yea it happens with newer model cars you might need to back to the dealer to reset your computer|||yes. that is normal. anytimes your battery dies or you change it, everything resets itself. it litke unpluging your alarm clock|||It is pretty common for the odometer and radio stations to reset. That happened in my car, too. No big deal, just set them again.

I have no clue about the windows. You should have a mechanic look at that.|||On some newer cars, you can program the computer in the car to different things, you%26#039;ll haffta check the owner%26#039;s manual about the windows. They might be %26#039;locked%26#039; so kids can%26#039;t hurt themselves playing with the windows. Because it%26#039;s awful coincidental that the windows changed right after the battery was changed.|||Any car, newer or older, if the radio has digital station presets and a digital trip A%26amp;B mileage counter, they will reset when you disconnect a battery.

Your computer(and radio) runs off that battery to keep the info stored(Just like a PC with the internal clock battery). So when you disconnect that battery to change it out, it will have a memory dump, which will in turn reset all %26quot;presets%26quot;. Same thing with cars that have %26quot;user settings%26quot; with seat positions.

As for your windows, is that a factory deal, or did you get an aftermarket window module installed with a security system?
