Car remote battery keeps dying why?

Every week I have to change my car key remote battery because it does not work any more. Why is this happening.It was amazing that when I took out the battery out of my key and miss an press the lock bottom on my key the car locked. What had me puzzled was that there wasn't any battery in the key. This happened once.Car remote battery keeps dying why?Sounds like you have a problem with your keyless remote. Maybe you are sitting on the button while I drive and killig the battery. Or maybe the battery itself just won't hold a charge anymore. Charge it, take the battery out for a week and then put it back in and see if it's dead. If it dies without being in the remote then replace the battery. As for the car locking with no battery, it's possible that there is a capacitor in there that had enough juice to power one keypunch. Or maybe you might be high. lol. I bet it's just a bad battery, sounds like it.

It's possible that button is sticking on your fob and sending a constant signal. This would drain the battery.

OK so i just put a new battery in my car and after i finished, i started the car but the instrument panel doesn't turn on nor does the radio. so idk what happened i did what i was told remove negative first and then put it on last. the cars starts up fine and the headlights work though just not the panel and radio.so if anybody can help meTrouble with car after battery change.plz help?suggest to check for burnt fuse

I had a similar problem (but the car also had problems starting) which was just solved with a liberal application of oil in the ignition barrel (which solved the starting problem, but also caused the remote fob to start working again). My remote is an after market one, so was not fitted from new. Not sure if this helps, but worth a try before you fork out for new stuff that may not work!

It happened to me. I was told that the push button had worn out and I needed a new key as the garage checked the code and they said it was o.k. The key would cost around 拢40 and the programming would cost another 拢40 so needless to say I stuck with unlocking the car manually.
i have the same problem with my dub the key and phob need reprogrammed

Before confirming the battery pl check for the correct AH suitable for your car. This AH capacity is decided based on the toal discharge of your car electrical needs.

Fix the battery with proper clampings in tight condition

Use a rubber base at the bottom mounting

Check the alternator charging system and correct it if defective

Check the self starter and get it overhauled if necessary.

If you are using higher wattage head lamps, use relay switch to avoild combination switch failure

A very good battery is the Interstate line ....sold mostly through private auto repair shops.



Barring that, WalMart's top of the line battery (the ones in the yellow case) are excellent bang for the buck ....got one in my full-size truck that I've had for about five years or so.



The %26quot;number%26quot; or rating you're looking for is the CCA or Cold Cranking Amps ....this is supposed to represent the battery's current flow capability when it is cold ...first start on a winter morning kind of thing ...I have no idea what temp they use for the rating. Bottom line is the higher the CCA rating is, in general terms, the better the battery ....the longer it will last and the more it will cost. So if you live where it gets cold in the winter then you want a higher CCA ....down in Florida, not so much.
GO FOR EXIDE BATTERY
Quite simply if you check with a decent auto parts shop and get the correct rated battery for the car then you will get what you pay for as regards quality.

I have a 1991 Nissan Maxima and every time it's out in the rain the battery dies. We just got it changed too a few weeks ago but it rained last night and now nothing works. I can't press the button to unlock it and it won't respond at all when trying to start. I would look around the lights assemblies for a spot the looks like burnt spots.

I would suggest getting a waterproof battery box...that way no rain water gets on the battery...also...check the water level in the battery itself.

It sounds like something is draining your battery while the car is off. If you have a stereo system installed, are your aftermarket amps wired into a switched power line? If your amps are wired to a constantly %26quot;hot%26quot; wire, then your amps will remain on and drain the battery. You can get around this by installing a power switch in the line(s) to the amp(s), or by wiring them to a switched power line (a line that only becomes %26quot;hot%26quot; when the ignition is on.



Otherwise, your alternator may not be installed properly or another electrical component may be remaining on while the car is off.

I recently changed the battery in the key to my citroen c2 with senso drive and it open and locks the car fine but when i go to start the car nothing happens except for the lights coming on the dash board which i noticed there is a - symbol where n shld be i also here a noise like as if the somethings engaging then disengaging. How long was the battery out of the key fob for?

Some vehicle key fobs have codes built in %26amp; when you remove the battery the key fob remembers the code for about a minute or so. If a new battery is not inserted within that time the key fob 'loses' its memory %26amp; needs reprogramming at the main agents.

Try starting the vehicle with the spare key if that works contact your main agent to see about getting the key fob reprogrammed.

first thing, to try,put the key in the passenger side door,dont use the fob,but lock and unlock about 5 times and try that.

ok if that doesnt work,disconnect the battery,leave for 10 mins,then try again,still nothing,ok put key in ignition,turn on then press the door lock button and hold in for ten seconds,in fact try this one first? then take key out and re insert it and try to start,im sure the following three options ive gave will start you?
