Car Battery keeps getting corroded?
Many times the corrosion is caused by the evaporation of the battery acid- during running and charging there is some evaporation that occurs. If there is a starting problem, that is usually indicative of an unclean surface that is being bolted to- either the wries were not clean or the terminals on the battery were not scraped. After using a wire brush to ensure that things are shiny clean, and putting every bolt to its proper tightness, use spray grease, spray paint, or %26quot;high tack%26quot; spray to inhibit future corrosion- they will each deter the acid that gets on the metal to create more corrosion.
Car Battery keeps getting corroded?
oxidation is the cause, grease is the answer. coat the terminals in a good coating of grease, that should take care of the prob.
Coating the terminals with vasoline to prevent the acid built up. Especially on the bottom.
get some crc battery terminal cleaner it has acid detector inside use that to clean the battery post and cables if it has an acid leak it will turn pink and you may need to replace the battery, then also get the battery terminal protectant and coat the cables/battery post.
batt is shot and alt is trying to keep charged/repl batt
I understand that you can smear vaseline on and around the battery posts and that will prevent them from corroding. This is an old school remedy. First clean off all the corrosion.
joseph is correct put grease on the terminals
the seals are broke where the cables hook to on the battery.
