(usually a few seconds during changeover). I had the same problem with my blaupunkt this afternoon as I had to change my battery. The stereo will store all other information, but will need a code to activate.
As far as the Hyundai stereo goes it might not need a code, if it does and it is factory fitted, then you will have to call Hyundai and give them the VIN or whatever they need to locate the right code. Alternatively, there might be a way of jury rigging it with just some temporary wiring, attach just some thin wires to the terminals of the new battery and tie them to the terminal cables of the car so that when the old battery is removed, voltage is at least not interrupted until you can lock the terminal clamps down again and take the temp wires off. This will maintain a constant current and fool the stereo into thinking that it is the same battery and that it wasn't taken out or stolen or anything.
The reason that radios code like that is to prevent theft, they rely on constant current to maintain their memory and to keep the code active. If the current (power) is cut, the radio code is inactive and the radio thinks that it was removed from the car (possibly stolen). That is why.

Ok heres the problem..i wired 4 underdash led lights directly to my car battery?
i put the two wire to the positive and negative and the kit came with a switch. when i went to start the car the battery was dead..after jumping it i drove the car for 10 min, shut it off and it wouldnt start again..i just changed the battery and it is fine...could i have blown out the alternator by hooking the wirees to the battery or just really drained the battery?Ok heres the problem..i wired 4 underdash led lights directly to my car battery?I would try unhooking them, jump start and see if the battery comes back up.

First of all find your fuse block. Then locate a space in the fuse block that is not being used , Make sure it is only hot: meaning there is only power to this space with the key ON. Get a cuircut testor they are very cheap. Run the positive to the fuse block and find a good ground: bare metal not aluminum, steel and make a good ground. If you would like to install the switch, put it in the hot wire where ever you like. Hope this helps.

Car Key Fob battery change - Do i need to reprogramme it again?
I have a Fiat Bravo 1.2 (2001)...i think the battery went dead months ago and i only just changed it, but it doesn't work, so does it mean i have to reprogramme it? How do i reprogramme it, can i do it myself or do i have to go to a specialist Fiat Garage?

Yes you have to re program it
If you have the Owners Manual it will tell you how.
Normally you have a certain amount of time from the time you take out the battery to getting the new one in so you do not have this problem. But you have to change it before the battery looses all power.

How to check which cell has a problem in a car battery?
I changed my car battery last year. But in this winter, the battery keeps being drained. I had the people from whom I bought the battery from checked it. they said somewhere is draining the battery.
Now I had the battery checked by a service dealer. They said one of the cells in the battery is bad.
How can I tell who is telling the truth? Is there a way I myself can check the battery? How to tell a cell in the battery is good or not?
BTW, I think I am pretty technical oriented and like to buy some small tools to do it.

It should read a volt or two higher than before, for a few minutes, anyway. If it doesn't, the alternator may need changing. A large auto parts store will test it for free, Advance Auto, for one, will test it while it's still on the car. Of course, I had a Toyota Corolla once that wouldn't charge, and it turned out that a lone wire running down beside the engine, with an in-line fuse holder that was completely corroded, was at fault.

They suck up the fluid from each individual cell so you can compare them. If you have one that's more than .050 lower than the next lowest one, that cell's dead.
Checking for a drain, if you have an ammeter, connect it between the negative battery terminal and post with everything off. It shouldn't read more than about 250 mA. If it doesn't have auto-range, be careful not to open the door, or accidentally honk the horn.
If all you have is a 12 volt test light, you can make sure it goes off after you unplug fuses for everything that should have a drain, like ECM, radio, BCM if equipped, etc.. If it doesn't go off after that, keep unplugging stuff until it does, to isolate which circuit.
P.S. also take out the bulb on the under-hood lamp if you have one.It won't do any good. If the battery's bad, you need a new one. You can take the battery to a parts store and have it tested for free or put the battery in another car and see if it does the same thing.
