Auto zone changed the car battery, now my check engine light is on and radio wont work.?

Did they connect the battery wrong? They didnt seem to know what they did. I know I need to go back. Any idea on what is wrong? Car is running but check engine light is on and radio is dead.Auto zone changed the car battery, now my check engine light is on and radio wont work.?Many newer cars, (almost 20 years now for some imports) have an anti-theft feature where you will need a code to re-set the radio. If it's not with the Owners Manual stuff in the glove box, you may need to contact a dealer to find it out. Most likely (although far from the only possibility) is that your car also has a computer of the type which needs a re-learn procedure performed if the battery is dis-connected. Without even knowing what kind of car you have, (why do people think that doesn't matter?) that's about all I can guess.

Oh, btw. There's a device that can be used to prevent all this hassle when changing a battery, but those bozo's at Autozone have probably never heard of such a thing.

Go back up to autozone and tell them what happened. Have them check the check engine code and see what that says. I think the only possible thing that they could have done is blow a fuse and i dont know how that could have happened either.

Borrow an odb2 scanner from checker auto parts and see what the errr code is. The battery most probably had nothing to do with it. If your car starts up and runs, the battery's voltage and amperage are both fine.
tighten the battery cables, usually people just put the cables back on with out tightening or cleaning them
